At our school, we aim to encourage a widespread love of dance, welcoming children and adults who can’t help but feel included! Established in 1979, we aim to create a positive, welcoming environment which is encouraging for all.

About Cadance Dance Academy

Located within Kings County, in New Minas and Greenwich, Cadance Academy is the most comprehensive dance facility within the Annapolis Valley region. We have 2 studios and 8 options on offer for students from ages 1.5 to 90+ years old.

To ensure classes are suitable for those who attend, we offer a range of options across styles, age groups and abilities. Whether you are aiming for a professional career, looking to stay fit or finally ready to give dance a try, we have a class for you.

The teachers at Cadance Academy have a vast range of experience across disciplines. Our collective approach is to share our love of dance while being supportive and encouraging.

Meet Our Team

Founder of Cadance Academy

With an unwavering passion for nurturing young talent and a heart overflowing with generosity, Linda has established herself as a leading figure in the dance community. With over four decades of experience as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher, Linda has been instrumental in shaping the lives of countless students and has helped them develop the confidence and skills necessary to blossom into talented performers.

Laila started ballet at the age of seven when her doctor recommended it to her mom because she was badly Pigeon toed.

Dance Teacher

Gaea Jess, the Artistic Director and Owner of Cadance Academy, is a highly skilled and accomplished dancer and educator. With a double honors degree in the Faculty of Fine Arts in Dance and Kinesiology and Health Sciences from York University in Toronto, she has dedicated her life to the art of dance and wellness.

Office Administrator

She’s jumped in head-first, showcasing her passion for people and technology. Having just moved from Vancouver, B.C., she’s excited to get directly involved in the community. Aaron came to the valley to complete her Social Services program at NSCC, and she doesn’t see herself ever leaving. In her spare time, she enjoys fostering cats for a local rescue.

Dance Teacher

Jennah began her dance journey at Cadance Academy and never looked back as she had found her passion! Taking classes in both ballet and contemporary, and then becoming an assistant dance teacher.

Dance Teacher, Dancer and Choreographer

Kara Friesen is an Associate Teacher of the Russian Society of Ballet in Canada, having completed the teacher training program in 2018.

Aries is the youngest instructor at Cadance Academy but has a wealth of experience that she readily shares with her students.
